Team Parent Responsibilities

1.  Set up a schedule for refreshment responsibilities for each game.

  • Use roster and game schedule

  • Assign each player a game to be responsible for half-time snacks (oranges) and drinks/snacks for the end of the game.

  • If the assigned player/parent cannot bring refreshments on the day he or she is scheduled, he or she must contact another player/parent and switch dates with him or her.

  • Team parents should call players prior to the game he or she is scheduled to bring refreshments as a reminder.

2.  Develop a “phone tree” to contact players and parents when a change of schedule occurs.

  • The Team Parent should find one or two other parents to assist in making these phone calls.

  • The “phone tree” can also be used to remind players/parents of refreshment responsibilities, canceled practices/games, and rescheduled practices/games.

3.  Organize an optional early season “get-together” for the players and their families.

  • The Team Parent is responsible for setting up the event, not providing supplies.

  • Try to get as many parents involved as possible.

4.  Help pass out and collect SCNM communications.

  • Alert parents to SCNM sponsored events such as fundraisers, clinics, registration, etc.

  • Provide SCNM Communications Director with e-mail listing of all players to optimize communication between The Club and its members.
