This was an outstanding job by the Metrostars boys in maintaining the lead
in the U12 Boys Division 1 bracket of the CT Northwest soccer district.
Shepaug came to this game in second place trailing the Metrostars by only
two points. This was a convincing win by the Metrostars boys who jumped
ahead with less than 5 minutes in the game and never looked back. Our
defense, nicked named the "wall", kept Shepaug's offense in check, the
midfield played hard and kept crucial possession, and the strikers were
clicking on all cylinders. The first half finished on a convincing 4 X 0
lead. On the second half Shepaug applied a lot of more pressure, creating a
few opportunities and keeping our goalkeeper very busy. However, the
Metrostars boys continued to create numerous chances by exploring a few
counter attacks and taking some great long shots. This was by far our best
game of the season. A well deserved win against a solid opponent. Well done
Metrostars!!
