This game was a great accomplishment by the U12 DI SCNM Metrostars boys in
advancing to the 3rd round of the CT State Cup. Our strong defense played
exceptionally well. Jaden Williams, Aaron Laranetto, Nick Teixeira, and Ben
Bayers worked relentless on the back. Tyler Kirkwood was much busier than
prior matches but was able to stop several shots and break away
opportunities. The midfield, as always, provided the energy needed to spark
the win. Exceptional play by Niko Stefanatos, Louis Alhage, John Tower,
Dalton Rowell, Nick Cianciolo, and Peter Mosso. Our strikers were very busy,
and when most needed, able to finish up the opportunities. Great job by
Spencer Devlin,Andonis Vassiliadis, and Andre Chappuis. Twice during the
game Newington was able to cut down the score by one goal difference,
however, our boys hung tough and realized the need to put this game away by
turning the score to our favor by 3 X 1 and then finally by 4 X 2.
