Comments
This was a very physical game with lots of hoppy play. Danbury relied
primarily on a kick and run strategy, trying to take advantage of their
large field and physical play. However, our boys were able to sustain the
pressure and slowly gained control of ball possession. The first half ended
with the score 1 X 0 in our favor. During the second half our boys took
control by going up 2 X 0 on a beautiful volley by striker Andonis
Vassiliadis. Andre Chappuis scored twice, and sweeper Jaden William showed
his attacking ability by going forward on a take away, dribbling and weaving
through several Danbury players, and finishing up the play with a beautiful
left shot past the goalkeeper. Final score 5 X 0.
Way to go Metrostars!! This marked our 6th victory of the season!!
