Elizabeth Snyder-Mounts played another great game as goalie. She had two
spectacular saves helping to hold Sherman to a scoreless game.
Offense
Just under 19:00 into the first half, Caitlyn DeFalco placed a shot to
the lower left corner of the goal. On the very next drive, Kira Page earned
her first goal of the season with a well-placed shot to the corner. New
Milford's mid-fielders demonstrated the desire to win. Kailyn Schuster &
Ellen Trautwein both worked spectacularly in Center Midfield. Lauren Ellis
and Caitlyn DeFalco both worked the right midfield with strength on the
ball. Kimberly Sandberg and Ashley Berry controlled the left midfield with
strong attacks.
Defense
Galaxy's well positioned defense stood strong against the Sherman
attacks. Katie Girardot had a stellar game, as did Eliana Berney. Brooke
Landry squashed a number of Sherman's attacks.
Comments
Galaxy had a very spirited game today. Dominating play and holding
Sherman in their side of the field nearly 75% of regulation play. The team
demonstrated game-maturity today by using their ball skills, playing their
positions, looking to pass, working the side-lines, moving to cross the ball
and setting up for corner kicks. An exceptionally well played game.
