The girls started off pretty strong, passing well and hitting support
players on back passes. They became a bit sloppy as the game progressed and
need to learn to sustain the level of play they had at the beginning of the
game and throughout most of the first half. As always, they fought well the
whole game in terms of trying to win balls. The backs did a particularly
good job pressing up field past the center line to create proper tactical
support opportunities for midfield, whether on attack or on corner kicks.
Eventually, they'll put it all together to control possession of the ball,
which is the name of the game. Hayley Kozar had the shot of the game. She
had her back to the goal from near the top of the box, and ripped a good
shot on the turn. Very impressive. Hannah Winter did well at center back
defensively. Lizzie Olmsted and Gigi Fusco were simply outstanding in goal.
Julia Trocchio has really picked up her game. She had the strongest
all-around performance today. Good job girls!
