Offense
Both goals were assisted from Breanne Rehaag. The first was a cross to
Kayla Nelson. She responded well by finishing to tie the game. The second
goal came from a corner that Amanda Eng finished (the game winner) after a
real fight for the ball.
Defense
We had possession for the majority of play and New Fairfield's attack was
cut short thanks to the strong play of Olivia Knight, Caleigh White and
Diana Habjan on defense. The girls worked the off side trap and stepped in
at the right times to interrupt the flow that New Fairfield was building.
Denise was not tested often, but made a great save on the first shot. It was
called off sides after she made the save.
Comments
The girls were great today in a number of ways. First they dominated play
and created many scoring chances. They passed well after they settled down
from the start of play. Second they responded well to the goal scored by New
Fairfield to end the first half. Third, they allowed no shots in the second
half from New Fairfield and came back strong to finish the game on the
winning side.
