GoalKeeper
1st half-Steven Cronin with 7 saves. 2nd half-Mike Piper with 6 saves
Offense
Mike Piper starting the scoring-showing his skills on offense this time.
I'll call the second goal a "Team" goal as I missed who scored
(apologies to the scorer. Connor Knight's persistent hustle and attacking
runs resulted in a fine goal. Steven Cronin finished the scoring for New
Milford-his third straight game with a goal. Nate Tower, Sean Sedore,
Anthony Morin and Mike Mclachlan were consistently involved in the attack.
Defense
Alex Immohr was strong in defense-tenaciously turning back the Danbury
attack. Colin Bohdan won a number of loose balls and helped launched
counter-attacks. Matt Coshal's smart, thorough play guided the back line.
Casey Ellman and Eric Zhu afforded the "D" quality minutes.
Comments
N.M. trailed at the half 3-2 but battled back to take a 4-3 lead midway
through the second. Danbury netted two to take the lead back with about 7
minutes to go. Despite a barrage of shots on goal from the N.M. side in the
waning minutes -the boys could not find that equalizer. The boys truly
rewarded their families and friends with a very exciting match.
CPC:"The boys fought hard and put forth a great effort. There were some
excellent through balls and very scrappy play." Coach Paul had a
special mention for Connor Knight, Colin Bohdan, Matt Coshal and Alex Immohr.
