Offense
Pia Lucia Artieda tied up the score in the first half with a well-placed
shot in the lower-corner of the goal. Brookfield scored early in the second
half. Caitlyn DeFalco manipulated her way through Brookfield's defense and
score with a strong shot to the side of the goal. Her third goal in three
games, brought the game to a 2-2 tie midway through the second half. Lauren
Ellis sealed New Milford's win with her second goal of the season, clinching
Galaxy's 3-2 win.
Defense
Eliana Berney stepped up the defense, stopping 19 of Brookfield's 29
attacks. Katie Giradot, returning from a 2 week injury break, stopped 5
attacks and moved New Milford into strike position several times. Brooke
Landry held off 3 attacks while Ellen Trautwein, New Milford's Right
Midfielder, filled in the defense to maintain New Milford's lead.
Comments
New Milford controlled the game with 21 shots on goal versus Brookfield's
5 shots on goal. During the second half, Galaxy was in their opponents side
of the field nearly the entire time. Overall, Galaxy had an exceptionally
well played game, they maintained their positions, manipulated the ball, and
used the sidelines effectively with offensive drives and throw-ins. Phenomenal
team play by New Milford Galaxy!
